Join me, Dan Nelson, magician and mentalist, for my evening show 'Mind Games', with pre-show music & comedy featuring Mike McAbee!

And don't worry if you joined us last year, as this is a whole new show!

We'll explore the forces of intuition, influence, & mind reading through fun & interactive routines and games, as the show builds to a big, stage-filling finale!! Will you be able to tell if real 'mental' forces are at play, or if it's all just illusion & magic tricks, or maybe a combination of both?!?!

I would personally like to invite you and your crew to our show and would like to ask for your help in spreading the word about this special, one-night-only event, limited to 60 patrons! We are expecting a great turnout... is it in your future to be part of our audience?! Please note that this clean-language magic show is for ages 10 and over, due to the nature of the content presented.

Brief biographies:

Dan Nelson performs fun, interactive, & entertaining magic and mentalism for adult and family audiences across the Coulee Region! He started his performing career in 1994 after winning third-place in the La Crosse Central High School talent show. He performed for both public & private events, including the public library, local daycares & schools, and private company summer picnics & holiday parties from 1994-2001. He then had to take a break from performing for health reasons due to his Rheumatoid Arthritis, a condition he has had since age three. Luckily for us, in 2014, he started performing again. He is happy to be bringing his evening show to The Grand Hotel Ballroom in downtown, La Crosse. He predicts a fun & unique experience for an intimate audience on the special evening of October 7th!

Mike McAbee seamlessly blends comedy with his original music. and with fun takes of crowd-pleasing cover songs! Born in Dodgeville, WI during the Summer of Love, he moved around a lot as a kid. Inspired to get into music after a trip to Nashville, he played with his band 'The PryOrrities' while attending Luther College. After nearly graduating, he started his 'slacker Generation X' career as a Musician/Dishwasher/Misunderstood Genius. During the next 8 years, Mike drove truck and saw America, only stopping long enough to marry, procreate, and get divorced. Ending-up back in Decorah, IA., he quit his Trucker job and went full-time into music. Nineteen years later, still touring & playing music for a living, he lives just outside of Waukon, IA with his daughter Lula.

Night-of-show details:

The pre-show entertainment, the musical & comedy stylings of Mike McAbee, starts at 6:30pm; The 'Mind Games' evening show starts at 7:30pm and goes to about 9:15pm; this includes an intermission with more entertainment from Mike! Their will be a cash bar available throughout the night, and ice-cream, nuts & candies can be purchased downstairs from The Pearl Ice Cream Parlor and consumed upstairs in the theater, which will be set-up with cocktail tables and chairs.

Tickets:

Available on Eventbrite. Tickets are $15 through Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022, and then $20 the week of the show, sold up until 7:15pm the night of Oct. 7, 2022, if seats are still available.

Parking & accessibility:

Free street parking is available. Free parking is also available in Downtown La Crosse parking ramps. Enter The Grand Hotel Ballroom through the Pearl Street entrance, right next to the Pearl Ice Cream Parlor. Steps lead you up into the theater. A freight elevator is available for patrons with disabilities. Please email [email protected] at least a day in advance of the show if you will need access to the elevator.

Socially distanced tables:

For patrons who request them, socially distanced tables are available at the back of the theater. Email [email protected] at least one day prior to the show to request one.
