Creativity Workshop for Teachers By TREE Learning

Our Community Canvas for teachers is a special full-day event on Creativity, which will be held in collaboration with DakshinaChitra. The goal of the event is to unleash the creative potential of teachers and to help them think deeply about how to fuel creativity in their classrooms. The program will include a range of creative activities and a panel discussion, as well as an exciting exploration of the power of metaphors in creative writing and art. While this event is open to all teachers, it will be particularly impactful for teachers of languages and the arts, as we will be focusing on creativity both in written and visual forms.

Agenda:

9:00 AM - Welcome and Registration

9:30 AM - About TREE Learning

9:45 AM - Activity - “See Think & Wonder”

• Interactive word cloud exercise
• What is creativity - expanding our definitions
• What are the "boxes" we put ourselves in that get in the way of creativity
• How do we challenge or disrupt these boxes?

10:30 AM - Tea break & Groups Creation

10:45 AM - Group Activity - "Houses"

• Each group will be taken to a house and will be given some time to walk around and explore it
• Using the house as a stimulus, the facilitator will ask guiding questions to get them to think more deeply / analyze/imagine

11:30 AM - Regroup

11:45 AM - “What makes a space creative” Session by Kiran Rao, owner of Amethyst Cafe

12:30 PM - Lunch break

01:00 PM - “Tools and strategies to develop a creative mindset” - Session by Dr. Sumitra Ranganathan, professor at KREA University,

02:00 PM - Conclusion, Synthesis of ideas and Wrap Up
