Mona Lisa’s smile is probably the most famous smile in the history of art. This talk will provide an understanding of its peculiar attraction and an exploration of what has been learned about the brain - and about ourselves - from research on how the brain makes beauty, mystery, and humanity out of da Vinci’s artful brushstrokes.
David Rose is a developmental neuropsychologist who has taught educational neuroscience and Universal Design for Learning at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education for more than 30 years and also helped to found CAST - The Center for Applied Special Technology - a not-for-profit research and development organization focused on improving education by taking advantage of advances in modern learning sciences and innovative learning technologies.
