Welcome to the very first instalment of Clerkenwell Comedy Club at Old Sessions House. We're delighted to announce our exciting launch event with four of the funniest comedians on the scene ready to laugh you into the Bank Holiday. Starring Russell Hicks, Evaldas Karosas, Chantel Nash, Jimmy McGhie.

Russell Hicks
Russell is one of the UK's most razor-sharp and exciting comic talents. An American based in London, he is a provocative and exuberant comedian with a rockstar edge, and has appeared on some of the UK's biggest TV networks, including Channel 4, BBC and ITV. His masterful weaving of improvisation with material has earned him a devoted following, with hundreds of thousands of followers across social media. Russell headlines at every major club across the UK, including The Stand, Glee Club and Up the Creek, and holds a residency at Top Secret Comedy Club in London. He also compères major events like the Leeds and Reading Festivals, as well as curated indie venues, historic theatres like the Hammersmith Apollo, and private members clubs across Europe. For his undeniable and prolific work in live performance, Russell was endorsed as a Global Talent by Arts Council England in 2022. Russell starred in the Prime Video series Lovestruck High, which was narrated by Lindsay Lohan, as the loveable Texan Coach Hughes. He's written for and starred in ITV's Stand Up Sketch Show and won the Channel 4 competition series Captive Audience with his fully improvised stand-up. Russell regularly entertains studio audiences at Have I Got News For You, The Last Leg, and As Yet Untitled. He is a Spotlight registered actor and enjoys both comic and dramatic roles. This is alongside his Stateside work with legendary Hollywood clubs The Comedy Store, The Improv and The Laugh Factory. A talented voice actor, Russell is the voice of Sky Comedy and Great Big Story, and frequently works for international brands in global campaigns. He is a presenter on Yahoo Entertainment. Russell regularly opens for his friends Axel Blake (Winner of Britain's Got Talent), Simon Brodkin, Al Murray, and more.

Evaldas Karosas
After rising to prominence in his native Lithuania, Evaldas Karosas moved to the UK where he won multiple competitions and established himself as a unique comic voice. His strong and persuasive style of writing is held up by deft well-timed delivery that keeps the audience constantly guessing on where the next laugh is coming from. Chantel Nash
Chantel started stand-up in mid 2022 and has been gradually clawing her way onto the open mic and black comedy circuits. With a splattering of gong shows under her belt, her effortless charm is winning over audiences. Within her first year of performing, Chantel has shared the stage with Richard Blackwood, Slim and Kane Brown, and will be featured in Mo Gilligan's Spotlight on Audible. This fast rising future star of comedy is one you certainly want to see.

Jimmy McGhie
Jimmy was an Assistant Producer for the BBC's Science and History Dept, having spent seven years working in factual television before he ran off to join the stand up comedy circus professionally in 2009. Since then he has performed stand up all over the world and appeared on numerous television and radio programmes including the BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, Comedy Central, ABC Australia, THREE New Zealand, Absolute Radio and many more. He is "a brilliant talent" (The Scotsman) and with "an easy charm and appealing relaxed manner" (Chortle), he has performed 10 solo shows at festivals around the world including the Edinburgh Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Sydney Comedy Festival, Perth Comedy Festival and New Zealand International Comedy festival. He is now a top circuit act in the UK, as well as a highly sought after corporate awards host and TV warm up artist. He regularly provides the studio warm up for BBC1's Graham Norton Show, ITV's Loose Women and Ch4's Deal or No Deal. "Exquisitely done, with a compelling, simmering fury… impressive" Chortle
