The Civic Orchestra of Jacksonville begins its 7th season with Magic and Mystery, a family-friendly concert that is sure to delight people of all ages. The Free 60- minute concerts feature such favorites as Mussorgsky's A Night on Bald Mountain, Saint-Saëns Dance Macabre, Bach's Toccata And Fugue in D Minor, and In the hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Greig.
Now in its seventh season, the Civic Orchestra of Jacksonville is a true example of community-driven collaboration. Conducted by Dr. Marguerite Richardson, the seventy volunteer musician members of the orchestra range in age from 18 to 96 and serve our community as music teachers, doctors, engineers, first responders, amongst many other professions.
The mission of the Civic Orchestra of Jacksonville is "Symphonic Music for All." Concerts are free and open to all ages. Attending a Civic Orchestra concert is a terrific introduction into the world of symphonic orchestral works.
