Las Vegas, entertainment capital of the world, will be the host city of our Chronic Disease Prevention & Management in Primary Care conference in 2017. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), chronic diseases and conditions, such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and arthritis, are among the most common, costly, and preventable of all health problems in the nation.
This conference will address these conditions with chronic disease experts. NPs, MDs, PAs and RNs will have a great opportunity to enhance their knowledge on prevention, guidelines, best practices and recommendations to manage chronic diseases. Join your colleagues and the outstanding panel of clinically active faculty members who will discuss practical strategies to improve the health, outcomes and quality of life of your chronically ill patients.
WHY THIS IS A MUST-ATTEND CE EVENT:
- A morning Preconference, “Diabetes Bootcamp for Primary Care Providers: Tips from the Experts,” will discuss the challenges and management of this chronic disease and will include guidelines on glycemic control, insulin and non-insulin therapies, and the use of monitoring technology.
- An afternoon Preconference, “Introducing Comprehensive Treatment for Obesity into Primary Care Practices,” will include the epidemiology and pathology of this chronic disease, as well as the guidelines to manage it using improved nutrition/physical activity, pharmacotherapy, and/or surgery.
- The “How to Improve Communication between the Healthcare Provider and Patient/Managing Challenging Patients” luncheon presentation will offer skills and techniques to effectively interact with patients in different situations.
- The sessions in this conference about chronic disorders of the heart, liver, skin, and the brain will recognize the health risk behaviors that cause chronic diseases as well as how to reduce the impact of these conditions on patients’ lives.
- An offering of 15 Concurrent Sessions will provide clinically applicable information to prevent and treat chronic diseases including dementia, hepatitis C, urinary incontinence, psoriasis, urticaria, and arthritis.
