Christmas in Versailles

For the Christmas concert (The "Night Before the Night Before" on December 23rd) we take you to the court of Versailles, for a sumptuous collection of traditional carols and Christmas music. The main work will be Marc Charpentier's popular Messe de Minuit pour Noel (Mass for the Midnight Service on Christmas Eve), composed around 1690 and based on a series of traditional French carols.  
This lovely work will be combined with a selection of familiar carols and some seasonal instrumental pieces. The choir will feature several choral scholars from Victoria to sing solo parts. We will be accompanied by  Contrasto Armonico (string baroque quintet and baroque flute).
