A Chorus Line is one of the longest running shows of all times. It is the story of performers who bare their souls and put their lives "on the line" as they audition for an unnamed Broadway musical. The 1975 show won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the Tony Award for Best Musical. With a lively, energetic score by Marvin Hamlish and originally conceived, choreographed, and directed by the legendary Michael Bennett, A Chorus Line soars with tunes like "God, I Hope I Get It", "Nothing", and the classic, "Kiss Today Goodbye".
This production is directed by Justin Speck with Technical Direction by Joey Lore, and is choreographed by Holly Knox, Mary Duncan, Abby Stevens, Benae Reuppel, and Justin Speck. Vocal direction is by Emily McGruther and the pit orchestra is conducted by Andrew Belsaas.
A Chorus Line is produced by Advocates for Creative Theatre Students, a local community and parent support group, provides local high school theatre students and regional adult artists a project for mentoring and collaboration in the performing arts with all proceeds benefitting these students who are traveling abroad to enhance their artistic endeavors. ACTS has produced Hairspray, RENT, Newsies, and Pippin, among other plays and projects, including three seasons of Shakespeare in the Square, and has sent over a hundred theatre students on four international trips.
