Celebrating the legacy of Zakir Hussain - an evening of ragas and jazz

In a specially commissioned SIA tribute, eminent Ragas and Jazz musicians come together to celebrate the extraordinary life and legacy of Zakir Hussain with an evening of works they performed with him. The ensemble of eight includes Grammy winning violinist, vocalist  L. Shankar (original SHAKTI), Grammy winning percussionist Selvaganesh Vinayakram (Remember SHAKTI), Grammy nominated Indo-Jazz saxophonist George Brooks (multiple collaborations), bassist Kai Eckhardt (multiple collaborations), raga pianist Utsav Lal, Zakir’s tabla disciple Amit Kavthekar , male vocalist Rohith Jayaraman (lead vocalist of Berklee Indian Ensemble), female vocalist Mahalakshmi Krishnan.
