The Canadians are coming to London Wednesday October 18. Headlining the show will be 2 incredible artists from Prince Edward Island on the shores of the east coast of Canada.

Catherine MacLellan is a singer songwriter and JUNO award winner (Canada’s Grammys) who has toured the world for 2 decades. She is one of Canadian folk music’s true gems and her most recent release COYOTE is her seventh album. Catherine is the daughter of the late and legendary Canadian songwriter Gene MacLellan, whose hits were recorded by music icons like Elvis Presley, Joan Baez, Bing Crosby, Loretta Lynn and many more. Catherine has followed in his footsteps as a gifted songwriter with warm vocals that draw you in accompanied by her stellar guitar work.

Inn Echo are one of the top new artists in Canada to watch. They weave hundreds of years of traditional tunes with contemporary originals and arrangements that both soar and make you catch your breath simultaneously. With technical precision, their mastery of instruments is the talk of the national and international folk music scene. The soundscape laid down by this three-piece instrumental group is both wildly dynamic and delightfully distinctive. 

British troubadour Sam Carter will open the show. He is a highly regarded instrumentalist, renowned by many as “the finest English-style fingerpicking guitarist of his generation” (Jon Boden). Over the past fifteen years Sam has made appearances on national TV, won a BBC Folk Award, and has toured the world, sharing stages with some of folk’s leading lights including Richard Thompson, Eliza Carthy, Martin Simpson and Nancy Kerr.

This show is supported by Music PEI, the music industry association for Prince Edward Island Canada, and will be held in the iconic St Mary Magdalene Church.
