Returning on 2nd - 3rd September, this year's Camden Inspire festival will celebrate the borough's creativity and community with a packed schedule that will engage the imagination of locals and visitors alike. The community-powered event will be located in the heart of Camden at Buck Street and Stucley Place, which provide a colourful backdrop to the festivities with their array of street murals and art.

Today sees the Camden Inspire programme launch, uniting an eclectic array of attractions for all tastes, from creative workshops to music and street food, while Camden Open Air Gallery will be curating two days of live, interactive street art and workshops. All of these elements are underpinned by this year's theme of 'storytelling'.

A diverse music line-up spanning indie, jazz, soul, electronica, dream-pop and folk, all of which reflects Camden's reputation as a focal point of essential music from Britain and beyond. These will be hosted by local partners such as  Roundhouse, Cafe KOKO, Green Note, Spiritual Bar and Camden's own Dig It Soundsystem.

Highlights from the programme include: creative workshops such as The London School of Mosaic, who will be hosting sessions to teach people the art of making a mosaic, while their tutors share their own artistic journeys; Centro Cultural Senzala will be offering capoeira masterclasses, while Camden Black Creatives will also be in attendance. Elsewhere, Mayhap Studio will be hosting a clay hand-building workshop which offers people the chance to craft items which will later be glazed and fired in their pottery studio. Meanwhile, over at the Roundhouse there will be a rare opportunity to learn circus skills.

A global array of street food favourites, ranging from authentic home-cooked Caribbean  food from Vibe'n'Go to the taste of Thailand courtesy of Pmo Thai Cafe, and Mediterranean favourites with a Kosovan twist from Peron Nº4. There's also award-winning gluten-free food from Libby's, Sri Lankan rotis cooked up by Chef Jahan of Spice Gate; and artisan cheese from Euston connoisseurs Cheezelo. Meanwhile, Werewolf Beer will be serving American-inspired craft brews made right under the local railway arch alongside Lost Souls Pizza who they will be collaborating with especially for Camden Inspire.

There is also much more going on, including a Music Book and Record Fair, curated by publishers White Rabbit, plus spoken word, poetry and performance art.

Camden Inspire 2023 will be previewed by a series of events, talks and panel discussions throughout July and August. These include a panel discussion, Art On The Streets: Injecting Art Into The Everyday (10 August) which will see street artist Aida Wilde, Tate Ward's Danny Herbert and Global Street Art Gallery's Lee Bofkin explore the varying demands and perceptions experienced by the street art community. There are also a series of one-off events and workshops being hosted by organisations including the British Library, Old Diorama and Global Generation, with full details of the Summer Series on the Inspire website.

A conversation with renowned Camden photographer Laurie Lewis will take place on Thursday 3rd August. Lewis' work has captured evocative images of rock legends like The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Elton John, The Who and Led Zeppelin.

Amy Lame, London Night Czar said: "I'm delighted that some of Camden's fantastic venues are joining together as part of this year's Camden Inspire festival. Together they will be celebrating the borough's music and community with a line-up from indie and jazz to soul and folk. It's another fabulous reason to visit the area and soak up the global artistry and sounds that make Camden famous as we continue building a better London for everyone."

Lucy Wood, Head of Music, Roundhouse said, "Camden Inspire is such a great event to showcase all the incredible creative talent and legendary spaces we have across Camden. We're bringing some of our brilliant Resident Artists to the stage and can't wait to see the rest of the community come out to support this event."

Simon Pitkeathley, Camden Town Unlimited said, "We are buzzing to yet again be hosting Camden Inspire, a festival that is gaining momentum every year! We curate this festival to bring together people and organisations who love the neighbourhood and want to represent its vibe in all their unique creative ways. This year, implementing a cultural program that includes Euston and Camden Town venues and institutions is a very special milestone in the festival's life."
