Bridges, Bikes and Brews 2022!
An end of summer fun festival!
Folks of all ages are invited to come and enjoy Bridges, Bikes and Brews Festival on Saturday, September 10th, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The fun starts and ends at the Linn County Lamb and Wool Fairgrounds, 38764 N Ash St., in beautiful downtown Scio. The event features free family-friendly historic covered bridge bicycle tours and guided covered bridge van tours. There will be local craft brews, corn hole tournament, motorcycle covered bridge poker run, food, music, entertainment, vendors and more!
Participants in the bicycle tour should bring their bicycles, helmets, and enthusiasm. Bridges, Bikes and Brews will provide the route, roadside support, and hospitality. The sponsored bike tour includes three historic wooden covered bridges and takes about two and a half hours to complete. The course is designed for all ages and ability levels. Aid stations with water, snacks, and on-call support will be provided. Registration begins at 9:00 and the first 100 riders will receive a free gift. The ride is free but donations are encouraged.
Van tours, hosted by Best Oregon Tours, will depart and end across the street from the fairgrounds. Riding in comfortable air conditioned 14-person vans, participants will visit four historic bridges, learn about the covered bridges and local history, and enjoy the pastoral landscape along Thomas Creek. A docent from the Scio Historical Museum will accompany each tour. These tours are approximately one and half hours in length. Space is limited, tickets are available at the information booth and there is no charge but donations are appreciated.
The Linn County Lamb and Wool Fairgrounds will be open from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. with food carts, and other vendors. The beer garden, opens at 11:00 and features beverages from the Growler Café in Lebanon. There will be entertainment at the Carol Bates Stage featuring a live DJ in the morning and "The Rock and Roll Cowboys" in the afternoon. This year we are adding a corn hole tournament for young and old alike. We will also be holding a motorcycle poker run from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. Register, visit all five area covered bridges and become eligible to win the prize money!
Proceeds from the bicycle, motorcycle events and other activities go to support the work of Scio Fairgrounds and Event Center, a local, nonprofit, grass roots effort to build a space for showcasing cultural opportunities in the Scio area. More information about Bridges, Bikes and Brews as well as the Scio Event Center can be found at Scioevents.com or visit us on our Facebook page at Bridges, Bikes and Brews.
