Boston Comedy Festival Gala

Combining iconic comedians with icons-in-the-making, the 22nd Annual Boston Comedy Festival Gala will showcase some of the best established and new comedic talents. The final eight up-and-coming stars from a 48-comic field go head-to-head for a $5,000 first-place prize. Fresh off Gotham Live and Dry Bar Comedy specials comedian Jim McCue, "Boston's King of Crowd Work", will be hosting this gala comedy event. The Boston Comedy Festival is proud to award its comedian of the year to Orny Adams. Orny has built an impressive resume since his early days of comedy in Boston. Orny has had one-hour stand up specials on Netflix, Comedy Central, and his third special "More Than Loud" debuts in December on Showtime. Orny has appeared all over television, most notably on The Tonight Show, Late Night with David Letterman, and The Conan O'Brien Show...and you might also recognize him as Coach from the TV show Teen Wolf which ran for six seasons. The 2021 Lifetime Achievement award in Comedic Performance will be presented to Billy West. We would love to honor his spectacular career, from his early years on ‘Big Mattress show' on WBCN and numerous voices on the Howard Stern show, to his current undisputed status as the greatest voice talent in America with the many voices we know and love like Stimpy J. Cat from The Ren and Stimpy Show, and Philip J. Fry, Professor Farnsworth, Zapp Brannigan, and Dr. Zoidberg on Futurama.
