Join us for an insightful talk with Marlene Yuen, a talented printmaker, book artist and illustrator. Marlene created the original mural Journeys Here for the 2023 opening of the Chinese Canadian Museum's Vancouver location. This striking piece is featured in the Odysseys and Migration exhibition and illustrates the global origins of Chinese Canadians, showcasing the communities they have built across Canada. The mural vividly portrays their struggles and achievements through representations of belongings, places and cultural motifs.

During the talk, Marlene will share her artistic journey, presenting past and recent works. She will also provide a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Journeys Here, including preliminary drawings, sketches, paint samples, and earlier iterations of the mural's design.
