Bold Women and Vivid Dreams features ceramic sculptures and drawings by two artists, Sarah Peters of Falmouth, MA and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Don Nakamura also of Philadelphia.

Highlights include Peters' Wondergrrrl series of teapots inspired by contemporary cultural feminine icons. Peters will also display figure drawings and small-scale sculptures that celebrate the female form. Nakamura is exhibiting large-scale ceramic sculptures, colorfully glazed with symbols that reference personal narratives. A series of Nakamura's graphic drawings, produced during 2020, will also be on view. The human figure is central to both artist's expressive vocabulary: Peters explores the intricacy of the human body, while Nakamura's works are a freewheeling channeling of his inner spirit.

Both artists work out of The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, PA, one of the nation's oldest and most respected centers for ceramics. Peters holds a BFA from Pratt Institute and is best known locally for her bronze public art commissions. Nakamura holds a BFA in ceramics from Kansas City Art Institute and an MFA in ceramics from the Cranbook Academy of Art.
