Beat Parkinson's Today Golf Tournament

The Beat Parkinson's Today Golf Tournament raises money to add new classes, offer scholarships, pay trainers and expand the program to new locations with the goal of helping more people with this disease to live healthier and happier lives. The program now has data that shows that participating three times per week or more can improve brain functioning that effects movement. At this time, there are locations throughout Connecticut, Pennsylvania and North Carolina that offer in person classes at three different levels. They also offer on-line classes everyday of the week for BPD Members, so anyone can participate from anywhere. Classes are one hour long and include Functional Interval Training, Boxing, and Visualization with each session challenging, motivating and focused on a different theme each month. Specific exercises are intertwined into every work-out that help to strengthen and improve the symptoms of PD. Gait, posture and balance are a few examples of skills that we focus on.This program was designed by a person with Parkinson's who researched and participated in clinical trials to help her create the Beat PD Formula. The main headquarters is in East Hartford, CT at 102 Pitkin Street. Beat PD is expanding its reach to other states by setting up Affilisates in Fitness Centers, Senior Residential Homes, Physical Therapy clinics and Senior Centers.
Beat PD's mission is to provide people who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease with hope and the opportunity to live their lives with confidence and strength. Our classes encourage intense exercise through Boxing and Functional Interval Training which is personalized for each individual. Classes also provide emotional and social support and give participants a sense of empowerment over their destiny.
