Enjoy a wonderful evening of live classical music with Basingstoke Symphony Orchestra at The Anvil on November 18th.
Our pianist for the evening is the huge international talent, Roman Kosyakov who will no doubt give a sumptuous performance of Grieg's piano concerto in A minor. Grieg wrote this piece of music when he was only 25 years old and it was an instant success. Interestingly, he was expected to write more symphonies after its success but intriguingly never did!
The orchestra will also play Beethoven's 5th Symphony in C minor, perhaps the most famous classical music ever written with its easily recognisable opening four notes.
There is a FREE pre-concert talk at The Forge at The Anvil where you can learn all about the music prior to the concert. Hosted by Gwyn Parry-Jones, you will be able to tap into his amazing musical knowledge gained during his extensive career as musician, a performer, conductor and an academic.
Tickets are on now on sale at The Anvil Box office or via the orchestra website www.bso.org.uk.
