Basics of Photoshoot Styling and Photography - Montcalm East workshops

Running over two sessions, these intimate and in-depth classes will take place in the photography studio at Montcalm East where Reuby is currently undertaking his residency.

Here, budding photographers will be taken on a journey to learn skills from the basics through to leading a photoshoot.

- 27th January 2024 - How to stage a thematic photoshoot and editing:
Learn how to take photos and lead a stylized photoshoot with a model and props. Participants will learn how to stage a shoot, do's and don'ts, and how to get the most out of a session. Reuben will also showcase basic, but essential, photo editing tools and how he creates his own unique style. He will also be on hand to review participants' previous work and give them his feedback.
Participants should bring their own cameras and smartphones.

- 24th February 2024 - Leading a photoshoot with models and set styling:
This photography masterclass will focus on leading a photoshoot and learning how to make interesting compositions with models in different locations. A model posing is a collaborative process that includes the subject, their ability and the direction of the photographer. Participants will learn how to communicate their vision for a shoot and direct team members. Attendees will leave with up to 6 different themed images that show off their new found skills in dynamic posing and set styling. The shoot will take place at the hotel, the in-house Photo Studio or explore the local area of East London (weather dependent).
Participants should bring their own cameras and smartphones.
