At Birchtree Charter School the 8th grade academic year focuses on American History. Throughout their 8th grade year, the students work hard to earn a trip to the East coast as a culminating experiential opportunity. On this trip, the students visit historic sites they’ve spent months learning about; including sites focusing on the colonization of America, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War and many of the monuments and museums in and around Washington D.C. As a school, we collectively fund raise to ensure the entire 8th grade class experiences this life-changing tradition.
Our goal in the 2019-20 school year is to raise $55,000 through community support. The parents, students, and staff of Birchtree Charter school work hard each year to create an amazing evening for the community to enjoy.
This year see Dia De Los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) come to life! Come dressed for the occasion or as you are to enjoy this festive evening. A delicious dinner of Mexican cuisine will be served and the homemade dessert raffle is always a delight. There will be beer and wine bar available as well. You will be able to participate in the live and silent auctions of amazing themed gift baskets and donations from local business’ throughout the evening.
