Agenda
Unit 1: Assembling the PC: We will spend the bulk of our time here building the PC, understanding what role each piece plays, and considerations when building a PC
Unit 2: Troubleshooting the PC: It's technology - it doesn't always work right the first (or 10th) time. We will walk you through some of the more common issues with the hardware build and provide you with a framework for troubleshooting any issues.
Unit 3: Software: Welcome to your new PC. Now, you need software. We'll help you install Windows, add drivers, and also troubleshoot why some things aren't working. Then, we'll show you how to optimize your PC for gaming.
Entrepreneurship: Throughout the course, we'll take some time to explore Flexible Hybrid Electronics. Students will work in teams to identify a problem to solve, design a product (PC-based, of course), build a business plan, and then pitch it to a panel of industry, academic, and government professionals. We'll also bring in guest speakers and may have the opportunity to tour a chip manufacturing plant in Sterling.
Pitch Day and Gaming Tournament: Our hosts at The Outer Limit will set up a mini-tournament for you to flex your new PCs. But not before you pitch your idea to our panel. Parents are welcome to view the pitch event and the tournament.
