Act Up! is a one of a kind event where the best screenwriters and the hottest actors and actresses come together for live reads and networking with influential producers, directors and film investors to foster growth, opportunity and hopefully... better scripts.

EVENT DETAILS

5:00 pm - 6:00 pm : ACTOR & WRITER sign up. Please arrive on time to secure your space.

6:00 pm - 7:00 pm : ACTOR'S DEN -  Participating actors take the stage to ACT UP! and perform their one minute monologue in front of the writer/directors of the night.  The writers (including the featured writer) will cast for their live reads based on the strength of the monologues performed.

BONUS : Best monologue of the night gets the ACT UP! CASH POT.

7:00 pm - 7:15 pm : NETWORK - Sip and chill while we prepare for an evening of amazing reads from the most talented artists creating narratives for the culture. The person next to you could lead to your next gig, be a film investor or be a new resource. **Dinner & Refreshments for ACT UP! Community members

7:15 pm - 9:00 pm : LIVE READS  - The writer, using the actors from the Actor's Den, presents 5 pages of their script to an audience of fellow writers, producers, directors and film investors.  After each reading, Kim, ACT UP's Managing Director, leads a Q&A discussion with the writer and audience.
