Entering it 67th year of exhibiting fine arts, the Park Forest Art Fair, hosted by the Tall Grass Arts Association, is the second oldest juried fair in Chicagoland. Artists exhibit in a variety of media from painting, printmaking, stitchery and photography to wood, fiber, glass and clay arts and including jewelry. Artists from all through the Midwest participate in the fair. Many of the artists have participated for more than two decades. This year, there are 18 artists who are new to the fair. Located in the Village Green and along Main Street in downtown Park Forest, the fair, this year, will include a sidewalk chalk art contest, around the Village's sculpture park just west of village hall. The fair includes a childrens' art alley in front of the Tall Grass Art Gallery, where children can participate in a variety of craft projects. On Saturday, the Village of Park Forest will host an all day music fest with music ranging from jazz to rock. On Sunday, fest favorites, the folk duo Patchouli will perform. Food vendors will include All Out Smoke Pit, Dulce by Dori, Vintrendi Wines, Wings Galore and more. The Tall Grass Gallery will be open all day both days of the fair and will host an exhibit of 80 of its juried artists. Both the fair and the gallery are open to the public, free of charge.
