27th ESCRS Winter Meeting | 10 - 12 March 2023 | Vilamoura, Portugal

Dear ESCRS Community

We are pleased to announce that the 27th ESCRS Winter Meeting will take place at the Tivoli Marina, Vilamoura Algarve in Portugal - from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 March 2023.

After having to transition this year's Winter Meeting to virtual, we are excited to be able to welcome the ESCRS community back to the Tivoli Marina, Vilamoura Algarve in Portugal for the 2023 ESCRS Winter Meeting as was initially planned for 2022.

It is our great pleasure to bring the 2023 Winter Meeting to you in collaboration with the Sociedade Portuguesa Oftalmologia (SPO) and the Portuguese Groups of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Ocular Surface, Cornea and Contactology (CIRP).

Following the tradition of the ESCRS, the Winter Meeting takes place in a special setting, allowing a unique combination of attending a high-level programme whilst making most of the warm welcome of the host destination, Portugal.

The congress format for Vilamoura is planned to be fully face-to-face, with no virtual access. The recent annual congress, which took place in Milan from 16 - 20 September 2022, has shown the growing appetite for physical presence at meetings.

The programme will feature a Cornea Day, a selection of Symposia and Free Paper sessions, Instructional Courses and, of course, the Young Ophthalmologists Programme and an ESONT track. Wetlabs will be available again!

The joint participation with the SPO and the CIRP will translate into joint Free Paper sessions, a Live Surgery Session and a separate track in Portuguese only for our local colleagues.
