18th. Annual Anthracite Festival of the Arts

Street fair with craft vendors, stage entertainment, educational exhibits, children's activities, ,tours of historical buildings, sites and exhibits. Horse drawn carriage rides. Magical white pumpkin carriage rides with a princess. Rides start at 11 AM. Tickets are $5. Two train excursions. One at 11 AM to Mt. Carmel and return and another at 2 PM to sites west of Shamokin and return. The excursion lasts approximately 90 minutes. Tickets $12.00 with group rates available for groups of 10 and over. Lap tickets are also available for small children. There is scheduled stage entertainment starting at 10 AM with opening ceremonies.11-12 Heath's Gym exhibition, 12-1PM Modern Band, 1-2PM Celtic Wood n Wire, 2-3PM Tir Na Nog Irish Step Dancers and 3-5PM Stanky and the Coal Miners. There weill be strolling musicians throughout the crowd, The Victorian HighWheelers, Big Whimsy Stilt Walker and The Juggling Kat. There will be clothesline art from The Meadowview Acadamy. Ryan the "Bugman" with be teaching about many insect species and interacting with the children. Exotic animals-CDE Exotics and CDE Rescue will also have an exhibit. There will be a large variety of food vendors especially highlighting ethnic foods and other favorites and much, much more..
