August 20, 2020 is the 401st anniversary of the arrival of the first 20 Africans on the shores of Point Comfort, VA. 1619: The Journey of a People is a dynamic musical theater production that commemorates the pain and celebrates the progress that is the African-American story. In conjunction with the DuSable Museum and Chicago's NPR station WBEZ, 1619: The Journey of a People will be performed for a streaming audience at 7:30pm, followed by a panel discussion.
