The summit will examine various facets of security, focussing on the "Asia Pacific" security concept that has in recent times undergone a change into an "Indo Pacific" structure, embracing in the process the Indian Ocean and India.
The Summit includes both general sessions on the changing nature of warfare and global terrorism as well as on specific issues such as the development of India's domestic defence industry and the involvement of international defence manufacturing giants in domestic collaborations.
Among the foreign luminaries addressing this gathering are Rear Admiral Peter A. Gumataotao (Retd), Director of the Pentagon think tank, the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies, in Hawaii, US, and General Vyacheslav Trubnikov, a Director of the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Participating Indian dignitaries include Minister of state for External Affairs General V.K. Singh, Lt. General Satish Dua, Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee (CISC) and senior government and defence officers.
