Winterreise

Schubert's "Winterreise" is in the centre of this concert, which is in itself a journey through the musical winter landscapes of J.S. Bach, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gustav Mahler, Paul Hindemith and Morton Feldman.
Duo Lamorniana are a chamber music Duo from Cornwall, featuring Ricarda Schmidt, viola and Ute Weickenmeier, piano.
They're returning to Burgh House after their successful concert "Urlicht" last year.
Their current concert is circling around Franz Schubert and his epic song cycle "Winterreise".
Join them for a journey through the musical winter landscapes of Johann Sebastian Bach, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gustav Mahler and others.
Among the pieces there'll be Hindemith's profound Sonata for viola and piano op. 11 no. 4 with its beautiful late impressionist tonal language, a suite by Ralph Vaughan Williams, two solo movements from Bach's famous suites and Gustav Mahler's deeply sad and heart-rending "I am lost to the world".
