On Saturday, November 23, 2019, The First Church in Swampscott, Congregational, hosts its 173rd annual "Let It Snow" fair. The yearly event, which features a range of merchandise for the impending holidays, will be held from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM indoors in The First Church's Clarke Hall, 40 Monument Avenue, Swampscott.

As in years past, the Let It Snow fair will include tables selling new and gently used merchandise including jewelry, gift baskets, small furniture and electrical items, Christmas décor, clothing, books, and collectibles. Also available will be a White Elephant department and a "Christmas Tree Mystery Table," featuring new gift items, wrapped and ready to find a home. New to this year's fair will be a Country Store and an accessories section featuring scarves, purses, belts, and neckties.

In addition to merchandise, the fair will feature a silent auction presenting opportunities to bid on event tickets, services, and similar items.

The fair's food offerings will include a bake table, a frozen food table, and "Le Bistro," a cafe offering coffee and muffins in the morning and lunch items such as clam chowder, lobster rolls, hot dogs, chili, and beverages.

"Our annual Let It Snow fair is a wonderful way to bring members of our local community together to kick off the Christmas season," says First Church Council Co-Chair Karen Rose Brown. "At 173 years old, the first has become a fixture in the town."

"The fair is an important mission of the church which provides folks with access to a fun and affordable way to get their holiday shopping started," adds First Church Treasurer David Silva. "And with the emphasis placed on repurposing new and gently used items, the fair is a wonderful opportunity for our congregation to live out our commitment to environmental stewardship."

The Let It Snow holiday fair is free and open to the public.
