Rugby Skills Camp

RUGBY SKILLS CAMP – March 20, 2021

We are delighted to offer a rugby skills development camp with special guest coach Garrett Bender. Garrett represented Team USA at the Rio Olympics in 2016 and the Men's Eagles 7s from Jan 2012 to Aug 2016. He coaches several youth rugby camps and clinics in Minnesota, is assistant coach to the Air force Men's Rugby 7s team, is a rugby specific training coach, rugby style tackle technique coach (football), motivational speaker and entrepreneur.

Sessions times will be organized by age as follows:
Session 1: 9.00am to 10.30am - 6th Grade - 8th Grade boys and girls ($25)
Session 2: 10.30am to 12.00pm - High School boys and girls ($25)
Session 3: 12.00pm to 1.00pm - Kids under 6th Grade - Non Contact Rookie Rugby ($10) - Family Members welcome to join in the fun
Session 4: 1.00pm to 2.00pm - Open Men and Women - New to Rugby ($25)
Session 5: 2.00pm to 3.30pm - Open Men – High Performance ($25)
Session 6: 3.30pm to 5.00pm - Open Men - High Performance ($25)

During the camp we will teach the skills needed to play the game competitively and safely with a special focus on the 7s style of play. This includes tackling, contact, ball handling, running rugby and having fun. Information will also be available for joining the rugby club and playing on a team. COVID procedures will be in place to confirm with return to play protocol. For the contact sessions a mouth guard is required and please bring your own water bottle.
