This course is an introduction to Antimicrobials in Veterinary Medicine. It will provide background, context and understanding regarding Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion (ADME) of this class of compounds, along with spectrum of activity, typical indications for each class, and relevant target animal and human food safety. In addition, there will be a limited discussion regarding potential clinical use and unmet needs in each class. For each class, some discuss will be done regarding PK/PD relationship and S, I, & R testing and interpretation. This seminar will provide attendees with a basic understanding of Veterinary Antimicrobials in the context of veterinary drug development.
