The Native Plant Alliance hosts its 4th Annual Native Plant Festival on Saturday, September 21. This free, family-friendly festival celebrates Cape Fear area native plants and helps attendees learn how to incorporate them into their own garden plans. There will be activities for adults and children, native plant vendors, a seed swap and giveaway, and displays and presentations by local experts.

Visit the Arboretum's varied garden areas, including the demonstration garden dedicated to native plants of coastal North Carolina--a great chance to see what native plants might actually look like in your yard.

Vendors of native plants will be Grizz's Nursery (Michael Gore), Arboretum Ability Garden (Heather Kelejian), Going Native Gardens (Joyce Huguelet), Lumber River Nursery (Jep Whitlock), and Shelton Herb Farm (Margaret Shelton).
More than two dozen education exhibitors and vendors will offer information on native and invasive plants, soil, water, trees, bees, and birds. Extension Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer gardening questions.

Children and adults alike will love Audubon's "Discover the Wonder of Birds" exhibit! Activities for children will include garden activities, making crafts, a scavenger hunt, and lawn games. Live music will be provided by Wilmington Police Pipes and Drums.
Food trucks: T'Geaux Boys, Poor Piggy's, The Donut Bus, and Snowie of the Carolinas.
