We hope this room rattling concert featuring our percussion section strikes your fancy!

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND The percussion section of the Spartanburg Philharmonic returns to the stage at Chapman to offer a fantastic program of rhythms, beats, and foot-tapping tunes.

The program features the incredible layered rhythms by noted percussionist and composer John Beck. This is followed by select rags from George Hamilton Green and a mesmerizing trio piece from Steven Snowden that will leave you in a trance by watching the masterful way the musicians move together in harmony to create a complex wash of rhythms.

Colorful compostions by Emmanual Sejourne will also be performed. His piece Khamsin was named after the southerly wind that sweeps sands from the arid deserts of Egypt. The piece itself evokes the image of a frenzied gust of wind whipping sand through the air.

Additionally, work by Indie, Contemporary composer Ivan Trevino will also be included along with other unannounced pieces.

Keep up the tempo and get ready for a night of spectacular, room rattling performances. You won't want to miss this one!

All Espresso Series Performances include a social hour before the performance featuring complementary beer, wine, and light hors d'oeuvres.
