Take Down The Wall Cafe 5th Anniversary Show

Take Down The Wall Cafe is a monthly (3rd Wednesdays) open mic that brings people with and without disabilities together as both performers and audience. It is sponsored by Open Sky Community Services. Admission and refreshments are free. This may well be the only open mic of its kind in the world. There are such events dedicated to people with disabilities, but this may the only one whose goal is to remove the invisible but potent social barriers between people with and without disabilities. Performers sign up for their acts at the door. The silence during acts is profound without being forced. The applause in between acts is wild. Just by coming and being in the audience for this fun event, one makes a difference in the way we all experience ourselves as enjoying a common creative humanity.
