FREE A WORCESTER CELEBRATION FOR ALL TIME AT ELM PARK ON SUNDAY, June 2nd 2:30 PM
A Once in a lifetime historical all Worcester event on Sunday, June 2nd at Elm Park starting at 2;30PM.
A Memorial Walk around Elm Park, the second oldest public park in America (.8 tenths of a mile) starts at 2:30PM. Name Tags will be available to everyone who wants to honor or remember a loved one.  The Unveiling Ceremony will start at 3:00PM with former Mayor Tim Cooney serving as the MC. Mayor Joe Petty will be reading a proclamation proclaiming Sunday, June 2nd The Late "Charlie Epstein Day" in Worcester. Legendary Sportscaster, Bob Lobel will be conducting a panel discussion on stage with the greatest collection of world class runners ever assembled together in Worcester. Taking part in this will be Olympic Legends, "BOSTON" Bill Rodgers and the "LIVERPOOL LIGHTENING" Geoff Smith. Other greats participating will be Boston Marathon Champion Jack Fultz, The sensational Patti Catalano Dillion, Randy Thomas, Bob Hodge, Dan Dillion and other legendary runners. Pittsburgh Pirates Legendary 3rd base slugger and former RED SOX Hitting Coach Richie Hebner will be reciting a poem he wrote on stage about his dear friend Charlie Epstein. A MEMORIAL MONUMENT will be unveiled at the old finish line on Russell St immortalizing both Charlie's Surplus 10 Mile Road Race and Charlie Epstein. A free concert will take place starting at approximately 4;00PM by Worcester's Legendary artist ROCIN' RIC PORTER AND THE SON'S OF BAND.  All OF THIS IS FREEEEEE!!!! Extra parking available at Doherty High School on Highland Street all afternoon on June 2nd.
There will not be a road race at ELM PARK that day.  The WFD 6K will take place the same day at Institute park at 11:30 AM, please also participate in this great event.
