This film highlights issues that take place in a nursing home and other communal living environments. Is it middle school relived? Find out, and participate in the lively discussion that will follow.

The Pharaohs is a short film that uses humor and drama to depict some real-life issues facing seniors today. Inspired by a true story, the film traces one woman's journey as she struggles with acceptance in and adjustment to a communal living situation. Along the way, she encounters peer pressure, social isolation, bullying, rejection, loss, misunderstanding and poor communication between herself and staff, as well as her family.

Following the movie, a panel discussion will address issues raised in the film, as well as the role of family dynamics in adjusting to life changes, effective communication techniques, and systemic issues regarding placement of seniors in communal living situations.

Time: 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm.
