Architecture is not just about how a building looks on the outside, it is about the spaces in and around the building as well. This half term creative workshop for 6 to 10 year olds explores how good design pays attention to all aspects of a building.
Who uses interior spaces and what are they used for? The function of a building and who is using it will determine what spaces you may find inside. We can also add our own unique style and tastes to interior spaces by thinking about the furniture we need and the decoration we want in them.
In this one-day workshop, we will explore the different kinds of places that we learn, work, worship, live, relax or play in and begin to think about how each has different interior spaces. We will consider light, colour, texture, spatial arrangements and more before developing a mood board of our ideas for a specific interior space. Once you've designed your space, you will then create a 3D model that shows how your room works in practice.
This creative architecture workshop is led by artist and educator Zoe Allen for young people aged 6-10.
