Nihiloxica turbocharge the musical revolution in East Africa, releasing on the influential Nyege Nyege Tapes, dubbed "the best band on Earth right now" by The Quietus, and a slot supporting Aphex Twin.

Nihiloxica are at the forefront of the musical revolution going on in East Africa, with two releases on the influential Nyege Nyege Tapes, and have been hailed as "the best band on Earth right now" by The Quietus. They were hand-picked by the mighty Aphex Twin to support his massive show at Printworks, and we're thrilled to have scooped up their London headline show!

While Ugandan music often treads the happier side of life, Nihiloxica brings the drums of Buganda and ships them to the underworld and back in a live project designed to utilise the trance-like state created by indigenous percussion troupes and fuse it with club music from the basements of Europe designed to achieve exactly the same goals.

Support from London based Ekhe, who has recently been remixing for Nyege Nyege Tapes' sister label, Hakuna Kulala, Bristolians Waldo's Gift ("Criss-crossing between post-bop jazz and electronics, their intensely improvisatory approach is dominated by the physicality of the live experience" - Clash Magazine). Plus Poly-Ritmo ("Hotly tipped as one of London's nascent selectors" - Worldwide FM) keeping it interesting in one of London's best new venues!
