Glasgow is the largest city in Scotland and recently has been included amongst the 32 Council Areas of Scotland. The city is situated on the River Clyde valley which is in the West Central Lowlands of the country. Glasgow has Britain’s largest sea port. About 2.3 million people reside along the region that surrounds Glasgow municipality which accounts to be 41% of Scotland's population. In the 2011 census, Glasgow had a population density count of 8,790/sq. mi (3,390/km2), which was the highest among all the Scottish cities. Glasgow has been the host for 2014 Commonwealth Games. Glasgow's climate can be said to be oceanic .As the city is situated in the western region and within close range of the Atlantic Ocean, Glasgow is among the few cities of Scotland' having a milder climate.
