NATIONAL WORKSHOP ON CNC PROGRAMMING & TRAINING IN VERTICAL MACHINING CENTRE

OBJECTIVES  OF THE WORKSHOP

• To introduce the participants to various CAD/CAM packages available for modelling and simulation and to provide them hands on training using suitable CAM software.
• To train the participants in the basics of CNC programming.
• To demonstrate the working and material removal process in CNC Vertical Machining Centre.

COURSE CONTENTS

• CAD/CAM BASICS :

1. Introduction to CAD/CAM software and basics of modelling and CAM concepts.
2. Selection of cutting parameters and tool path verification.
3. NC Code generation and simulation of the machining process.

• CNC PROGRAMMING :

1. Introduction to CNC machines, co-ordinate systems & machining parameters.
2. Axis nomenclature for milling operation including machine datum & work datum.
3. Programming structure and programming cycles for basic milling operations including tool radius compensation.

• HANDS-ON TRAINING:

1. Machine specification and different parts of CNC Vertical Machining Centre.
2. Operating modes in FANUC oi-MD including tool and work piece set up.
3. Tool offset and wear offset definitions.
4. Canned cycle programming  and hands-on training incorporating cutter radius and wear rate compensation.

REGISTRATION DETAILS

Registration fee for students of Engineering Colleges* : Rs. 1,500/- (inclusive of service tax)

Registrations can be made online along with the Demand Draft for registration fee drawn in favour of “PSGCNCE” payable at Coimbatore.

Registration fee includes workshop kit, course material (CD), certificates, refreshments and working lunch.

Registrations has to be completed on or before 26/09/2019.

* This programme is only for engineering college students and the total number of participants is limited to 30.

* Accommodation for workshop participants are available in College Hostel on chargeable basis.
