“If we teach today’s students as we taught yesterday’s, we rob them of tomorrow.” – John Dewey
If your answer is “yes”, then join our insightful webinar on “Blended Learning: Fostering the Needs of the Modern Learner”.
In the domain of learning and development, a lot of developments and adoption of trends can be observed. What needs more focus, however, is the reason why these shifts are happening in the first place. When we try to answer the question “why”, a couple of reasons can be listed:
Attention span is becoming shorter from 15-20 seconds to now 8 seconds and this is only going to reduce further
If we closely observe how delivery of instructions have evolved over the years, there has been a shift from “teaching” to “learning” – from a passive learner receiving the learning content delivered through one source to an active learner, making choices of one’s learning sources, modalities, content etc. Today, the learners, pay attention to content based on their needs and expectations and construct subjective meaning out of it to fit their needs.
Apart from the learner needs, another shift has been in the composition of the global workforce. By 2020, five generations would be working together, and millennials would comprise 50% of that population. There is a demand to cater to the learning needs of the changing workforce (Source: The 2020 Workplace: How Innovative Companies Attract, Develop, and Keep Tomorrow’s Employees Today)
Learners today need bite-sized learning content and prefer content that they can learn from on-the-go
All these trends are not shifting the focus from traditional learning. Learners and content designers need the best from both the worlds and hence, blended learning has become the need of the hour
Keeping in mind the above-mentioned trends and many others, this webinar will focus on leaving you with a perspective on how the learning journey for the modern learner can be designed.
