Trek to Tambdi Surla Waterfall

The trek is (90 minutes one way) passes through amazing Western Ghats forest. Relax at the foot of waterfall for some bathing fun. About Place

Noted as the oldest temple in Goa, Tambdi Surla is a Shaivite temple of Lord Shivabuilt in the 12th century. This temple is a treat to eyes because of its unique style of construction. It is the only monument of Kadamba - Yadava architecture. Kadamba dynasty was ruling during the time when this temple was constructed. If you notice every bit of the temple’s architecture, you would realize how much pain has been taken by the craftsmen who worked to make this masterpiece.

Tambdi Surla is located inside the area of Bhagwan Mahavir National Park. Situated amidst nature, it is a divine place. The intricate carvings of the temple adorn the interior and sides of the temple. It is built by skilled craftsmen. Now, there is a priest cum caretaker who stays there throughout the day. Along with Lord Shiva, the temple has fascinating figures of Lord Vishnu and Brahma. Every corner of the temple tells a story. Tambdi Surla faces east so that the rays of the rising sun first falls on the deity.
