The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur is one of the most acclaimed and prestigious centers of learning in the world, undoubtedly one of the most respect garnering educational institutes in India. Over the years it has been consistently ranked among the top engineering schools by several national and international surveys.

Udghosh is the annual sports festival of IIT Kanpur and definitely the greatest exponent of exuberance and passion of its students. Lately, Udghosh has grown into one of the biggest and the most zestful student festivals in India. Witnessing nearly 3000 participants, UDGHOSH is a battle arena with more than just a win or loss on the line; it is a struggle for the glory and honor, testing strategy and temperament at different strata of the impending contest. The participation is from almost all the prestigious colleges within country like IITs, IIMs, NITs etc.

Renowned personalities include the likes of International Sports Gems such as Sanath Jayasuriya, Sri Lankan Cricketer, Deepa Malik, Silver medalist in Rio 2016, Dhanraj Pillay, former captain of Indian hockey team, Piyush Chawla, RP Singh, Syed Kirmani, Nayan Mongia of Indian Cricket team, and people who are considered virtuoso in their fields like Ashwini Ponnappa, Arjuna Award recipient and Gold Medalist in Commonwealth­ Games 2010, Ritwik Bhattacharya, 5 times National squash champion. We also had been blessed with the presence of Seema Antil, Bronze Medalist in Commonwealth 2010 and professional artists like Nikhil D’Souza, famous Bollywood Singer, Vipul Goyal, Yogi’s Angels a Russian troupe and Avijit & Tinku from India’s Got Talent. Raeth, Sufi rock band, which became no. 1 on MTV top charts, The Local Train – one of India’s most famous rock bands has inspired, enthralled and mesmerized massive audiences at previous editions of Udghosh.
