The Awake Jaipur

Children with cancer are like candles in the wind who accept the possibility that they are in danger of being extinguished by a gust of wind from nowhere and yet, they flicker and dance to remain alive, their brilliance challenges the darkness and dazzles those of us, who watch their light.

Cancer claims the lives of more children than all other childhood diseases combined. 40,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year in India. Around 1.6 to 4.8 percent of all cancers in India are seen in children below 15 years of age. 46 children are forced into battle inoculation against cancer every day. 7 out of these 46 child fighters lose their battle against cancer.

Three years ago the Bhagwan Mahaveer Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (BMCHRC) jaipur management observed that every second child coming to the hospital defaulted in treatment due to lack of money. It is well known that, when someone has cancer…the whole family and everyone who loves them does too. With this in mind, and to mitigate the untold sufferings of cancer affected children, BMCHRC has come up with several initiatives, through which hospital offers free treatment to cancer affected kids. Some of the free projects being run by the hospital are DALF (Donate A Life), CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia) and WILMS Tumor Project. Under these Initiatives BMCHRC have spent approx 2.50cr on the treatment of the patients.

‘The AWAKE’ is yet another dynamic initiative crafted by BMCHRC to raise funds for supporting these welfare initiatives and  improve the chances of survival of cancer patients saving countless lives, reducing the burden of cancer. 

With this fund raising musical initiative we invite you to join hands and participate in our diligent effort to fight against cancer. BMCHRC’s core social motive is to serve the destitute community distressed by cancer and your collaboration with the cause can definitely help us attain heights.
