Valor Memorial Park will kick off its first annual History Walk with a movie on Friday night, September 2 at 8:00pm. We’ll be showing the film "The Hunley" Staring Armand Assante and Donald Sutherland. The film is based on the true story of the H.L. Hunley submarine, and how she was successful at sinking the USS Housatonic on February 17, 1864.
On Saturday September 3rd the History Walk will begin at 9:00am. Our feature attraction will be The Traveling H.L. Hunley Exhibit from Charleston, S.C. We will also have reenactors from the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWII, and others. The soldiers will have displays and camps set up for display. There will be cannons fired every thirty minutes, historic artifacts, historic guns, The General Lee Car, a historic cabin, General Robert E. Lee , and more. Come join us anytime Saturday September 3rd and tour the historic exhibits.
Hot Dogs, Chips, and Drinks will be on sale for a quick snack.
