Chris Dimitrakopolous -- known as Chris D. to the many who can't pronounce his name -- headlines a New Year's Eve bash as Scamps Comedy presents comedy in the back pub at Murphy's Taproom, 494 Elm Street, Manchester NH.
He's joined by Joe Espinola and host Jack Lombardo.
Tickets are $30 in advance, $40 at the door (cash only). Showtime is 8:30 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m.
Peabody's Chris Dimitrakopoulos, also called "Chris D." by the many people who can't pronounce his last name, is a much-requested Boston comedian known for his imitations of his Greek father. He works regularly at clubs and fundraisers, after making an early name for himself with wins in comedy contests including "The North Shore's Next Big Catch" in Beverly and "Witch City Comedy Contest" in Salem, and as a finalist in the "Boynton's Standup Standoff" in Manchester, N.H. He works in theaters frequently as the opening act for Juston McKinney and has performed on shows with top Boston/national headliners including Robert Kelly, Tony V., Paul D'Angelo and Joe Wong.
Joe "Espi" Espinola is an established name on the Boston scene, working regularly at Giggles and Kowloon Komedy, as well as fund-raisers and one-nighters around New England. He's performed at theaters such as The Cabot in Beverly, the Black Box Theater in Peabody, and the Mass Arts Center at Great Woods. Sly and engaging, his good-hearted sarcasm and droll point-of-view has earned him fans from Boston to Bangor. He's worked with top comedians including Steve Sweeney, Lenny Clarke, Patty Ross and Paul DAngelo.
Affable, animated Jack Lombardo wins audiences over with his friendly, exuberant stage presence and funny observational style. Jack started in the Midwest and has made a good impression on the Boston scene. Among the headliners he's shared the stage with are Juston McKinney, Paul Nardizzi, Mike McDonald, Dave Rattigan and Steve Donovan.
