A Stable Economy!

An economy is stable when it dissipates imbalances that might arise on account of a few adverse or unexpected events. Every government is, therefore, expected to prevent occurrence of unforeseen events and ensure an orderly economic growth in the long-run. A cursory review of our past experience goad us to conclude that events such as bank runs, stock market crashes and blackswans lead us to excessive instability in the economic system. ‘Business cycles’ are yet another contributing factor in this regard. However, sagacious planning and adequate safeguards would not only avert economic shocks but ensure growth and stability in the economy.
Mitigating ‘Downturns’

A stable economy is all the more very important as downturns, if unattended, would unfortunately, lead to serious ailments, crimes and suicides in the society. So, this trend should be reversed and the engine of economic growth should be put back on the track in order to accelerate sustained growth.
Priorities!

Some of the economic problems that warrant urgent action by the governments include, rising jobless growth, regional economic imbalances, mounting government debts in many countries, particularly in Europe, volatile financial and banking system, growing disparity between the rich and the poor, immigration of people from African continent to European and other countries through high-risk channels and damage to the eco-system. These are, quite understandably, very important issues that need to be addressed by the global community. Against this background, the upcoming conference is being organized in the most beautiful country of Thailand. You are cordially invited to share your research findings with fellow academicians from the rest of the world.
