Coldest Night of the Year

Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) is a national fundraising walk held at the same time and date in over 200 communities across Canada. This year, the event will take place on Saturday February 22nd from 5pm-7pm. The walk will start and end at Junction Park in downtown Squamish, followed by a celebration at Howe Sound Inn and Brewing where we will enjoy a delicious meal prepared by the kitchen team at Helping Hands.

The goal of the event is to raise money for Squamish Helping Hands and also to raise awareness about what it might be like for someone experiencing homelessness to be without shelter on one of the Coldest Nights of the Year. CNOY raises money for Squamish Helping Hands through donations (every person who walks in the event raises money by asking friends, family members etc. to donate) and sponsorship (there are several opportunities for businesses to financially support the event in return for public recognition).

Last year was Squamish Helping Hands Society's first year hosting the event and we blew the nation's socks off by raising over $83,000 - 4 times the amount a first year location typically raises! This year, our goal is $125,000 and we need your help!
