Countering Violent Extremism

Defence IQ is delighted to announce the return of the Countering Violent Extremism conference. In 2017, we saw a growth of extremist attacks on European soil and elsewhere around the world, countering this growing threat to the safety and security of citizens is understandably top of the agenda in 2018.

Despite efforts to counter violent extremism, the threat continues to evolve within our borders. Extremism and acts of targeted violence continue to impact our local communities and online violent propaganda has permeated social media.

Our 17th Countering Violent Extremism conference will feature presentations from the UK Home Office, as well as senior speakers from across the globe, including Alexander Ritzmann, the Executive Director of the European Foundation for Democracy. Mr. Ritzmann will be discussing the role of propaganda in violent extremism and how we can counter it.
