OBJECTIVE
Computer aided simulation is a primary part of science and engineering. Simulation software provides the accurate replicate of all physical effect that exists in the real world. It gives a way in which alternative design or plan can be evaluated without having to experiment with a real system. Before inventions of simulation tools and simulation models, it was very difficult to analyze and investigate the operation of complex electrical systems. The gradual development of digital computer enhances the accuracy and utilities of simulation softwareâs in the area of space, biomedical, electrical, electronics, computer science, mechanical engineering and technology. Currently simulation tools are equipped with realistic portrayal of actual condition s of a system in a real time. This makes simulation results capable of giving a highly reliable forecast. One of such computer aided software is PSIM (Power SIM). PSIM is simulation software specifically designed for power electronics and motor drives. With fast simulation and friendly user interface, PSIM provides a powerful simulation environment for power electronics and motor drives but can be used to simulate any electronic circuit. It has several modules for specific circuit simulation and design. Inexpensive, Easy to realize complex model and better speedy optimization are some added feature of PSIM.

This workshop will serves to be the platform for the academicians/researchers / industrial persons who were working in the areas of Power Electronics and its applications for pursuing their research works in a resourceful manner.

6. Model creation using Nonlinear Elements
7. Applications:

FACULTY
Sessions will be handled by the experienced faculties from various reputed institutions and also from KEC.
BOARDING AND LODGING
Accommodation and boarding, if required, will be provided in the college campus on chargeable basis.

The Electrical and Electronics Engineering department was started in the year of 1994. It occupies a prominent place in the chronicles of Kongu academic history. The specialization of the faculties occupies a wide area in the field of electrical and electronics. The department offers four year UG programme in EEE and two year PG programmes in Power Electronics & Drives and Applied Electronics. The department also carrying out so many consultancy activities like energy auditing to various organizations and industries.
