The Khajuraho Dance Festival is celebrated when the spring takes over winter. It’s an international dance festival organised by the Department of Culture and assisted by Madhya Pradesh Tourism. This cultural extravaganza showcases the richness of the Indian dance forms performed by very fine artists. Moreover, the variety of classical dance includes Manipuri, Kathak, Odissi, Bharathanatyam, Kuchipudi.
A one-week long dance gala is hosted each year at the magnificent city of Khajuraho located in the district of Chhatarpur,Madhya Pradesh. Interestingly, the artists perform in front of thehistorical monuments like Chitragupta Temple devoted to the Lord Surya and the Vishvanatha Temple committed to the Lord Shiva.
Like each year, the festival will be hosted at the temples of Khajuraho in February in order to promote and encourage dance, culture as well as the heritage sites. The city is known for its rich inheritance and UNESCO approved monuments.
